PaaSage – Model-based cloud platform upperware
Focus: Delivering an open and integrated platform to support model based lifecycle management of cloud applications. Enabling model-based development, configuration, optimisation and deployment of existing and new applications independently of the existing cloud infrastructures. An integrated development environment combining the abstraction power of a modelling language with mechanisms for profiling, reasoning, monitoring, metadata collection and adaption at runtime.

Impact: Reducing migration and implementation costs. Enabling the full exploitation of the cloud potential, thus reducing expenditure. Avoiding user lock-in with any one provider. Allowing transparent use of heterogeneous infrastructures. Simplifying the management of services and infrastructures Enabling the integrated improvement of service and composition and deployment through the learning of behavioural characteristics.
